For our family, no holiday season is complete without a trip to check out Christmas lights. We always start the night with some Starbucks (for the parents) and hot chocolate for the kids. Here are some great neighborhoods you need to check out this year in San Diego:

Carlsbad – The “Carlsbad Christmas House”  at 7607 Romeria Street from Dec. 5- Dec. 31, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/CarlsbadChristmasHouse/

Carmel Mountain – Fairway Village area of Carmel Mountain from Dec. 1 to Jan. 1 from dusk to 10:30 p.m. nightly. Most nights they ask visitors to drive around the neighborhood, except for the block party night on 12/18. http://www.fairwayvillagenews.com/?page_id=5

Poway – “Candy Cane Lane” covers Hickory Ct., Hickory St., Butterwood Ct., and Rockrose Ct. in Poway. https://www.facebook.com/powayccl/

Rancho Penasquitos – “Christmas Card Lane” can be found on Oviedo St. off Black Mountain Rd. This is our favorite because it’s so vast! You could go several times and not see it all!  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_Card_Lane

Lakeside – “Tinsel Town” on Paseo Palmas Dr. Visitors can see the displays from about 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. throughout December.  https://www.facebook.com/lakesides.tinseltown/

Santee – “Starlight Circle” or “Sunburst Santee” covers Tomel Ct. off Magnolia Ave. This one gets REALLY busy so we suggest going early in the night or late to avoid traffic. https://www.facebook.com/starlightcirclesantee/

El Cajon – Jingle Bell Hill is located just off Pepper Drive in El Cajon, CA. https://jinglebellhill.com/

Tierrasanta – Visit 5306 Belardo Dr. nightly beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving for a computerized Christmas light display. http://www.belardolights.com/

Bankers Hill –  “The Forward House” is located at Ivy St. and 1st Ave. and is a Christmas tradition for much of San Diego! http://californiachristmaslights.com/Properties/Detail.asp?i=1175
