8 Ways Parenting Is Like Dating

Hopefully while dating someone you don’t encounter too many runny noses, spontaneous vomiting or loud tantrums, but there are definitely similarities between dating and parenting.

For example, you get nervous when you don’t hear from them. That phrase can apply to both dating and parenting. Any parent knows not hearing from their teenager who is supposed to be texting them is not cool. Or how about an overly quiet toddler in the next room? That’s a terribly unsettling feeling that you get in your gut right? Now that you think about it, remember how you felt when that guy said he’d call you a week ago!

If that doesn’t convince you, how about this. One minute, he is your everything. The next minute you want to rip each other’s hair out. Hopefully the reasons aren’t the same, but the feeling usually is.
