Summer is here! The kids are out of school and you’re looking for something to do with the family. Luckily we are in San Diego and that means there is always a TON to do! Here are some of our favorite San Diego.
Free Concerts
Who doesn’t love live music? Especially in the summer when the weather is perfect. This is the best way to get your children exposed to live music for the first time. I know one of my first shows was a Beatles cover band at a local park. San Diego has a ton of free concerts all over town for you and the kids to check out. Free Outdoor Movies
The perfect weather in San Diego just makes you want to be outside and who doesn’t love a movie. Summer Movies in the Park have a ton of locations with movies playing that the whole family will love all summer long. Best part is that it is all FREE! Check out there summer 2023 schedule here:

Check out Some Museums at Balboa Park
We here at SDMoms.com are huge fans of the museum selection we have in San Diego. The summer is the best time to check out all Balboa Park has to offer, especially as it gets hot and you need a place to cool off. Plus, there are always less people during the week. They also have the annual Explorer Pass that can save you a ton of money. For $229 two adults and up to four kids can get into any museum in the park for an entire year! It’s a great value!

Go to the Fair!
The San Diego County Fair is on and going strong through July 4th. Between rides, exhibits, farm animals and all the food there are hours of endless entertainment available. Don’t skip out on checking out the competitions while you are there. Many talented San Diegans worked tirelessly to craft their entries and maybe it will inspire your child to take up a new hobby!
