Pediatrician Pat Cantrell, MD, at Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center sees a lot of kids in her practice who are struggling with their weight. Dr. Cantrell has a formula for getting kids healthy: 5, 2, 1, 0. Here’s how to make each day a healthy one: Eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables; limit screen time to two hours (that includes TV, video games, computer use and texting); exercise for one hour and drink zero sodas and sugar-sweetened beverages.
