Difficult subjects are nothing new to the children’s program, Sesame Street.  They’ve used kid-appropriate ways to deal with natural disasters, adoptions and even death over the years.

Some years ago, the program tried to tackle the touchy subject of divorce and the results were not good.  The producers admit that the attempt just did not work.

Now, the show has renewed the effort, using the happy-go-lucky, fairy-in-training, Abby to teach parents how to approach the subject with children and help kids understand that it’s not their fault.
