Chargers fans can join the San Diego Chargers at the third annual Kaiser Permanente Bolt to the Q 5K & Kids 1K Fun Run on Sunday, July 21. The run begins at 7:30 a.m. at Qualcomm Stadium.
Registration is limited and the event is expected to sell out. Entries are available on http://chargers5k.com/. The adult entry fee is $35 and $15 for children 12 and younger if registered by July 16. Proceeds benefit Trish & Ryan Mathews’ Door of Hope Chest, a non-profit charitable foundation overseen by the Salvation Army.
The event will help provide homeless moms and children much-needed resources through Mathews’ Door of Hope Chest, which strives to ease the transition for homeless moms and children into their new homes by providing housewares such as bedding, towels and cookware. The foundation also provides services such as job counseling and parenting classes.
The Bolt to the Q starts in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot and finishes inside the stadium on the 50-yard line. The 1K Fun Run for children will also be held at the stadium. All participants will receive a Bolt to the Q T-Shirt and a medal.
