One of the sentences my 3 year old son loves saying is “family movie night!” We all get in our pjs, make some popcorn and watch a movie, typically a cartoon, all four of us cuddled on the couch.
I decided I would surprise the kids by taking family movie time to a whole new level, the Giant Dome screen at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. You should have seen their faces in the Giant Dome Theater watching their first IMAX film!
My husband and I loved camping before we had kids so we thought National Parks Adventure would be a perfect movie for the whole family. This movie was great because it made us feel like we were right there in these beautiful national parks. My 20 month old daughter kept saying “wow” and “ooo” thru the movie while my 3 year old son was enthralled with the rock climbing, biking, and adventurous parts of the movie.
Here’s the part of the movie my husband and I looked at each other and said “what, no way?!” when the rock climbers attempted this:

That was just one of many national parks featured in the film and with the IMAX cameras, it made us feel like we were right there climbing, biking, rafting thru the canyons, and more! So much fun. Now I think it’s time to buy a tent big enough for the whole family so we can go on our first family camping trip.
