Based on responses, COUNTRY Financial® has identified the average rate of payment for chores in America today, which parents can use in their negotiations with kids on the value of common household chores.

Twenty two percent of parents want to teach their kids the value of money, while only twelve percent said it was to teach them financial independence.

From the COUNTRY Financial® list, the top three chores on the payment list are:

  • Mowing the lawn ($6.28)
  • Cleaning the garage ($5.20)
  • Doing laundry ($2.82)
