Girls With Nagging Moms Grow Up to Be More Successful

You may not like it, and your daughter certainly may not like it, but nagging her to get her homework done is something she will thank you for later in life. At least that’s what the University of Essex in England found during their research.

From 2004-2010, the Universities researchers found that 15,500 girls between the ages 13 and 14 were more likely to go on to college and earn higher wages with moms who set high standards for them growing up. Another major upside of having what they call a “Tiger Mom”, is that these girls were far less likely to become pregnant teens.

Maybe a little nagging or being a tad extra pushy isn’t such a bad thing after all. Your daughters may kick their feet a little, but the benefits they will celebrate later on in life will outweigh any tantrum they may throw now. As a parent you are the one that must be disciplined enough to keep it going through the years.
