Get ready to embrace your wild side at the San Diego Zoo’s new Wildlife Explorers Basecamp! Your kids are going to LOVE playing in the immersive Wild Woods, a woodland-themed zone complete with 20 foot tall “oak tree” play structure and rope bridge. While your little ones are playing on the oak tree, they’ll be able to check out the spider monkeys in their new habitat! Also featured in the Wild Woods is an amazing splash pad with showers, dryers, and bathrooms nearby. So don’t forget to bring a change of clothes for the kiddos!
The Wild Woods is one of 4 new habitat zones- Cool Critters Reptile House, Rainforest (which houses the sloths and anteater), Marsh Meadows, and Desert Dunes. If your kids are into insects, you have to check out the Spineless Marvels Invertebrate House. There is so much to do at Basecamp!
My kids and I checked it out over the weekend and had such a great time. It’s really immersive, hands-on, and interactive. We can’t wait to go back! Check out the pics (above) and the video (below).
