Happy March! With spring just about to start there are a lot of really cool things for your family to do in San Diego. If you’re looking to save some money, here are five free things to do with the family this month:
San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering

With over 100 hands-on STEM activities for all ages, this event is bound to entertain all your kids. This year they are celebrating the 15th anniversary of the event and the first in-person event since the pandemic. The best part is that it is completely free and no pre-registration is required.
Second Annual Picnic in the Park

Randy Shell at Jacobs Park
If you have never been to the Rady Shell, this is the perfect opportunity to experience it for the first time. The Rady Shell opens up for everyone with free music and other activities. Plus, you can bring your own food! There will be other food vendors as well.

Fido Fest 2023

If you’ve got a furry family member then you will love this event! Originally scheduled for February but postponed due to weather, you can participate in a variety of activities with your dog plus arts & crafts for the kids and even some awesome doggie contests! Plus, if you’re looking for a new best friend there will be dogs available for adoption.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival
March 11
9:00am – 6:00pm
Balboa Park
Get on your green and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Irish Congress of Southern California. The parade starts at 10:30am as it makes it’s way down Fifth and Sixth Avenue. The festival is open all day with live entertainment, crafts and a kids zone. Admission for kids is free but adults 21+ are $5 each.
2023 Storytelling Festival
March 18th
10:00am-6:00pm
Coronado Public Library
Storytellers of San Diego return for an all-day festival celebrating all things storytelling. They’ll present storytelling concerts, conduct workshops and host community groups. All ages are welcome!
