Wait…what? Why do all kids toys burst into flames these days? I don’t remember my action figures or Hot Wheels self combusting when I was a kid. These days however toys spontaniously bursting into flames is a real concern; Hover boards, talking dolls…and now fidget spinners are added to the list.

You can find them anywhere – in the grocery store isles, gas station check out stands, drug stores, craft shops, I have even seen them at a certain autoparts store. Fidget spinners are the hot new thing ( no pun intended), but recently have been knows to burst into flames in the home. Now keep in mind we’re talkng about bluetooth fidget spinners, not the standard spinners you can get for a couple of bucks pretty much anyplace. The Consumer Products Safety Comission says…”You should always charge when you are present, but definitely not overnight while you are sleeping,” Rothman reveals on GoodHousekeeping.com. “Let the toy cool for a bit after you use it before plugging it in, especially if it’s hot. And always keep it away from flammable objects.”

Well there you have it. Experts we already warning people to keep fidget spinners away from small children due to choking hazards. Now the warnings are even worse.  I say we let our kids play with bits of string and dirt. That’s about as safe as it gets.
