When I heard that we spend $7 BILLION more on Mothers Day than on Fathers Day, I couldn’t believe it at first. Then thinking back to working in restaurants and how Easter and Mothers Day were the 2 busiest days for our brunch, it made sense. But why? I have celebrated my dad for every Fathers Day and continue now with my husband. Dads are just as important as Moms! Here is my public THANK YOU to Dads, especially those who may feel they weren’t celebrated on Fathers Day.
Yes, there are the stories of absent fathers, so that’s even more reason to celebrate great dads. I couldn’t do this job of “mom” by myself. I loved watching my husband become a father and seeing how his relationship has grown this past year with our son. Learning together as we show our son love, teach him, and feed him. Well that last part my husband takes care of, as he is the chef in our family!
As we get ready for our 2nd baby, I’ll need him more than ever. I babysat a 3 month old baby the other day by myself with Bryce running around the house and it was a great test. Once Bryce started crying, the baby started crying, and then it was a battle for who do I keep holding and soothing while the other keeps crying. So thank you to my husband ahead of time for helping with more diaper changes, more play time, and more crying babies.
