Since F was born, we seem to have adapted a revolving-door policy for nicknames. Do you do that? Cycle through nicknames? Do your nicknames for your kids evolve? Ours sure do. She’s been Bug, Tootie, Bean, Peanut, Pal, Sugarbuns, and lately I’ve been calling her Bunny and J has been calling her Bear. She’s never complained, and I definitely remember having more than one nickname as a kid (McGillicuddy was one of them, don’t ask), so I’m not TOO worried, but sometimes I wonder: are we setting her up for an identity crisis? I kid, of course, but sometimes when I think about ALL the nicknames we’ve given her, I have to laugh. Sugarbuns? It just rolls off the tongue!

What do you call your kids?
