disney-tomorrowland-logoThey don’t happen very often.  Movies that are just right for little kids and families.  The big summer blockbusters may be fun, but can be a little over-the-top with explosions and mayhem.

So, here are ten movies that we’re hearing about that should be perfect for the little ones, and enjoyed by parents as well!  Any other kids’ movies you’re looking forward to?  Let us know with your comments below.

  • –Muppets Most Wanted. Any kid who loves the Muppets is sure to love the latest installment, due in March of 2014.
  • –Rio 2. April 2014 will see the release of the second Rio movie.  More fun with the birds of Rio!
  • –Legends Of Oz: Dorothy’s Return. This is an animated version of the classic tale, coming in May.
  • –How To Train Your Dragon 2. We loved the first one, which has something for everyone in the family.  HTTYD2 will be here in June 2014.
  • –Ninja Turtles.  This is the 5th film in the series, and a reboot, which will get the title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, due in August 2014.
  • –Dolphin Tale 2.  If you loved the first one, you’ll be happy to know that filming has begun on the sequel, releasing in September 2014.
  • –Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. This is based on the children’s book and stars Steve Carell, due for release in October 2014.
  • –Tomorrowland. Imagine George Clooney and Hugh Laurie in a film that takes its inspiration from the futuristic Disney “land.”  We’ll see it in December 2014.
  • –Night At The Museum 3. December 2014 will also see the release of the third in this series.  Shawn Levy returns to direct and Ben Stiller stars.
  • – Annie.  One more release of note for December 2014 — A movie remake of Annie, starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.
