Infant Sleepers recalled following multiple infant deaths

Nearly 5 million infant sleepers have been recalled by the Fisher-Price company following the deaths of more than 30 babies who rolled over in them since the product was introduced in 2009.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says that anyone who bought any models of the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play sleeper should stop using it immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund.

The recall covers about 4.7 million of the sleepers, which cost between $40 and $149.

EpiPen Expands Its Recall: What You Need to Know to Keep You & Your Kids Safe

Does your child suffer from a  life-threatening allergy and depend on this medication? If so, then this is an article that you probably need to read. 

The US Food and Drug Administration announced that pharmaceutical company Mylan is recalling 13 lots of its EpiPen and EpiPen Jr. auto-injectors, as these devices might contain a defective part which could result in the devices’ failure to activate.

Some of the recall lots are these:

The affected lots were distributed between December 17, 2015, and July 1, 2016.

The 0.15-mg EpiPen Jr auto-injectors impacted by the US recall are as follows:

  • Lot 5GN767, with expiration date of April 2017
  • Lot 5GN773, with expiration date of April 2017
  • Lot 6GN215, with expiration date of September 2017

Chicken Nuggets Included in Million-Pound Poultry Recall

Kids LOVE chicken nuggets…heck I love chicken nuggets, but I will not be buying them for a while. If you have these in your freezer…..THROW THEM AWAY!

It is not just chicken nuggets either…

“The affected products include chicken patties, fries, fillets, and the popular nuggets. They were sold throughout the US at retailers, including Walmart stores, between December 19, 2016, and March 7, 2017, under the brand names: Farmington, SmartFoods4Schools, and Great Value.”

Little Tikes Recalls Over 500,000 Toddler Swings After Injury Reports

It’s a great way to keep the little ones happy while you cook, clean, work or take a time out for yourself – but are there dangers regarding toddler swings? Apparently there are. Little Tykes has recalled over 500,000 of their toddler swings.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published the announcement on its website and notes there have been 140 reports of this Little Tikes swing breaking — including 39 incidents with child injuries (like abrasions, bruises, and cuts) and two incidents resulting in a broken arm.

FOOD RECALL / Make Sure You Aren’t Cooking Up These Hot Dogs

WASHINGTON, July 19, 2016 – Bar-S Foods Company, an Altus, Okla. establishment, is recalling approximately 372,684 pounds of chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The ready-to-eat, chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog items were produced on July 10, 11, 12, and 13, 2016. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 16-oz/1-lb. packages of “BAR-S Classic BUN LENGTH Franks MADE WITH CHICKEN, PORK ADDED” with “Use By” date of 10/11/2016 and case code 209.
  • 12-oz. packages of “BAR-S CLASSIC Franks MADE WITH CHICKEN, PORK ADDED” with package code 6338, “Use By” date of 10/10/2016 and case code 6405.
  • 24-oz./1.5-lb. cartons of “SIGNATURE Pick 5 CORNDOGS – 8 Honey Batter Dipped Franks On A Stick” with a “Use By” date of 4/6/2017 and case code 6071.
  • 42.72-oz./2.67-lb. cartons of “BAR-S CLASSIC CORN DOGS – 16 Honey Batter Dipped Franks On A Stick” with “Use By” dates of 4/7/2017 and 4/8/2017 and case code 6396.
  • 48-oz./3-lb. cartons of “BAR-S CLASSIC CORN DOGS – 16 Honey Batter Dipped Franks On A Stick” with package code 14054, “Use By” dates of 4/6/2017 and 4/9/2017, and case code 14038.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. P-81A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

Bar-S Foods notified FSIS’ Dallas District Office on July 19, 2016, of its intention to recall five chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog products that could potentially be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The firm has not received test results forListeria monocytogenes in connection with the recalled products, but due to recurring Listeria species issues at the firm, it has decided to remove the products from commerce as a precautionary measure. There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
