Toddlers have A LOT of energy, and it can be challenging to find activities to fill their day. I have two toddlers at home, and one of their favorite activities is to paint. Yes, it’s going to be messy, but it’s a great way for them to get creative and to kill time.
Toddler hack: to help contain that mess, grab a muffin/cupcake tin and put the paint in there. I like to grab complimentary colors and put them in different spots around the tray. The kiddos can use the open spots on the tray to mix two colors together to make a new color. Also, by using complimentary colors, when the kids inevitably mix all the colors together they won’t end up with one giant brown blob on the paper.
Extra toddler hack: if you don’t want to deal with the kids getting paint everywhere, throw them in the tub and let them have at it. When they’re done painting, they’ll already be in the tub, ready to get clean. Make sure you’re using washable paint to make clean up a breeze.
