Leprechaun’s do not give up their pots of gold easily which is why one must be very crafty when trying to catch one. You have to be able to outwit them for sure – but a good, clever trap is the real key to catching a Leprechaun.

Using everyday crafting items and maybe some kitchen pantry tools, you and your child can easily make simple, yet creative traps that will hopefully make your St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun catching a success!

One of the easiest and most effective Leprechaun traps to make uses a stick, a laundry hamper or an empty box, and what Leprechaun’s find the most unavoidable, a pot of gold. It’s simple, yet very effective.

You can also tempt the little guys with sweets. Leprechaun’s have a major sweet tooth. Try making a Cake Trap! Make a cake with a rainbow filling, covered in green frosting. Place a few chocolate coins on top to really tempt them.

Since Leprechaun’s are always running around causing mischief, they get tired. You can make a Leprechaun hotel out of a cardboard box. Decorate it with glitter, rainbow’s, gold coins and maybe write FREE LUCKY CHARMS on it. I bet that’ll do it!

How about a Lego trap. Kids love Lego’s Just  just need plenty of pieces and, of course, a Lego leprechaun mini figure, but it’ll keep the kids occupied for at least one whole afternoon.
