Legoland’s Trick-or-Treat is the Best Family-Friendly Halloween Event in San Diego!

Admittedly, we haven’t spent much time at Legoland. In fact I’ve only taken my 4-year-old once when they first reopened after the pandemic and he napped most of the time. So when we went over the weekend to check out their Halloween event Brick-or-Treat it was an entirely new experience for us and I was pleasantly surprised. It is now our favorite family-friendly Halloween event in San Diego.

First, let’s talk about what Brick-or-Treat is. Every Saturday till the end of October and Sunday October 30th, Legoland is transformed into a Halloween paradise. There are shows, activities, trick-or-treating and more. Plus, everything is included with the price of admission! 

Out of everything, I was really blown away by the shows. I couldn’t believe how many shows they had. We tried to catch a little of everything and still missed a couple. The quality of shows is spectacular too. Every performer, singer and dancer gives it their all and the guests were all very into it. The fact that they put this much into shows that are only done once a week was incredible. The final show of the night, The Monster Rock Off, was clearly the favorite with a crowd gathering way before it started and staying for the entire thing. 

The amount of character meet-and-greets was also surprising. They have a ton of special Lego characters that are out just for those days taking pictures with guests. Plus, I have never seen so many stilt-walking characters in my life. They were literally EVERYWHERE in the park. It was super fun to see and the kids really loved them. Also, the Monster Security Checkpoint is SO cute! The performers that man that station must have a ton of fun interacting with the kids every day.

Don’t forget the trick-or-treating which is included! There are other spots in San Diego that make you buy one of their bags for a couple bucks in order to get candy, Legoland gives you a bag when you enter the park and you can go to each treat station as much as you like! 

Like I said, I was pleasantly surprised at just how wonderful this event was. There was just so much to do that we could not fit it in all in one day. For that and so many other reasons this is by far my favorite family-friendly event in San Diego!
