Moms Are Primary Breadwinners in 40% of U.S. Households

Moms for the first time are now the primary providers in almost half of U.S. households with children, a sharp increase from just 11% in 1960, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The study credits the increased presence of women in the workplace for the rise.
